Crossroads

Painted blind and shorn
Painted bland and worn
Painted black and forlorn
My traveling
Life choices
Heartfelt
Adventure - seek
Hope inside felt
Lay fears asleep
Know thy crossroads

Pompilidae pepsis
08:36
|
|||
And so, this story begins
Of the pepsis genus reproduction
A horror to spiders, an obsession for entomologists
They represent a lifetime of research to be done
The tarantula hawk is on the hunt for a nursery
To raise her young free of any charge with nutritious food
She knows of one, a juicy spider, full of calories
First she must find a tarantula, the wet-nurse for her brood
But she has a trick, using pheromones, she sniffs out her prey
She locates, and navigates to the burrow
The clever wasp knows a way to get its prey out:
It tears the webs
It wrecks the spiders home
Forced into defense
The spider flees to the surface
Sizing each other, scuttling across the ground
The wasp tries to insert her ovipositor, the stinger into the spiders abdomen
The tarantula ever-wary nearly avoids certain death...
...if only for another moment - as that fourth inch long stinger shall penetrate it before the day is done
The wasp takes it victim down a hole to be entombed
Using its ovipositor the pepsis lays an egg on the spider
She surveys the nest; spider she inspects; which is left to rest
It then covers the tomb and leaves, having done its job the pepsis can finally be at ease
The egg will hatch soon and feast upon the flesh
Ravaging its organs, leaving the vital ones for last
The egg hatches
One life starts
And another will soon end
Searing, blinding pain takes it as the larva desecrates it
Death, where art thou? The creature beckons for it.
But death is a tease...in three weeks the tarantula will be dead...

Fall Into Winter
06:43
|
|||
Winter whispers to my soul
Softly speaking the lies
Of a thousand gasping throats in the night
I won't leave here alive
The bleak sadness
Engulfs me, expels me
Leaves me wishing for more and teasing my tortured mind
A taste of life
Withers before my gaze
Sleepless nights and painful days
Burdens winter cruelly lays
Upon my shoulders
Winter shrieks
Its face horribly contorted in joy
I'm within its grasp once again
"Step forward, my dear
Let the snow consume your body
Let the black waters take your flame of life"
I break the ice of the lake
Plunging downwards into the depths
My breath stolen, never to be seen again

Imminent Extinction
11:45
|
|||
Destruction of the forests
Pollution of the streams
We gut Mother Nature
Then rinse our hands in filth
To forget and forgo that which is sacred
The sea, the sky, the earth, the air
The creatures that bask and play there
Plastics fill our waters to the brim
Our carbon sinks deplete day by day
Nobody seems to care at all
But in the end...your children will be the ones to pay
Raping - the fair earth
Reaping - what it's worth
Callous - apathy
Consumed - by our greed
A sixth - extinction
Nowhere - to hide or run
Death comes for each of us in the end
[Spoken word by Sir David Attenborough]
Drain the earth and fill your fat wallets
Choke our resources and suck them dry
Corporations only care for their paper
Grotesque ignorance and arrogance
You sabotage righteous path from this crisis to profit yourself
Crush energy that isn't feeding your own pockets and your gaping mouth
When fossil fuels become the archaic past we'll know we are nearly dead
Your pathetic excuse for your actions is bovine and reproachable
But tradition and culture are fucked as well
Kill keystone species for your dinner plates
Mutilate sharks and throw them back alive
Hunt elephants for their "precious" ivory
Drive endangered species to their graves without even a care
Both consumer and provider are to blame for this absurd mess
The monolith of mankind towers above all and withers
What has become of our lives and our judgement for what is right?
I'll piss on your vile grave and desecrate it for your:
Sins against the natural world, as they unfurl
Filling our oceans shit, all that plastic
Heals dug into the ground, logic not found
Short sighted ways of decay - for which we will all pay
For with the blood and tears of our children, and so I'd:
Gayly gorge out your eyeballs, laugh while you bawl
Rip off your short withered cock, smash you with rock
Drip hot wax in your rectum - in wound I cum
Feed you your own steaming shit - eat up, you've earned it, you bastard...
The earth crumbles to grey dust and ashen ruins
I silently walk this land, still and dreary
I remember a time when life was here
My problems but a drift in the wind
I stretched beneath the trees and watched the star light filter through the canopy
But now...it's all gone.
